Additional Comments: Brugt is an eye-catching Friesian by Fieste with outstanding confirmation, impressive gaits and superb disposition. He stems from a great mareline and his father is the most famous breeding stallion of the Friesian studbook. He is registered with the FPS, the oldest and most prestigious studbook for Friesian horses. Brugt's mother, of mareline 70, the ''Ankje Model Preferent stam.'' She was National Champion mare at the 1995 FPS National Mare Show (Central Keuring) and Reserve Champion in 1996. She is one of the most beautiful Friesian mares and passes her qualities on to her offspring. Anjke is a Model mare, meaning she belongs to the top less than 1% of the Friesian mare population. She is not only beautiful in appearance but in performance as well. She scored every high for tests in both dressage and driving talent. Brugt's grandmother is Liskje, a wonderful Ster mare. His great-grandmother is Lysebeth, the well known Ster Preferent mare. Ster is a predicate awarded to the top 30% of Friesian mares, based on confirmation and gaits. Preferent is a great award for mares who have produced at least 4 offspring of Ster quality. Brugt's sire is very famous; the only living Preferent Friesian stallion, Feitse. Feitse was bornin May of 1983. He underwent stallion inspection in 1987 and went on to performance testing with very high scores-- Walk 8, Trot 8, Canter 8, Riding 8, Driving 7, Pulling 5, Show-driving 9 Character 9, Stable Behaviour 9, Training Report 9 Feitse has always captured First Premiums and was approved for offspring in 1991. He is sire to 4 approved sons: Tsjerk, Rypke, Fetse and Folkert. The latter was Dutch champion twice. He is also sire to 7 model mares and has sired many First Premium foals and ster mares. Additionally, of his female offspring, he has the highest percentage of ster mares, over 50 percent. Feitse and his offspring not only have good confirmation and movement, they also make excellent dressage and show-driving horses. Brugt has clean X-rays and has been trained under saddle. He is a very easy horse with which to work and a fast learner. He has great Friesian characteristics with thick feathers, flowing mane and tail. His gaits are smooth and energetic with the perfect amount and knee action. Show performance, great intelligence and personality are in his blood. He is destined for great things and under the right hand will make an exceptional dressage performer and or carriage horse.
